‘Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.’
~ Maryanne Williamson
And with those words from Simon’s Mum I knew for certain how the edit was going to come together.

Me: “Ummm…hell yes.”
Here’s Maggie and Luke’s feature film.

“see I believe life is all about making memories.
some of them are good, some of them are bad, but all of them sculpt who we are today.
and to make a memory stick – to make it really last…
often it has to be something different and unique”
lisa and michael’s wedfest: a true reflection of who they are.
their favourite memories, concerts, markets, food stalls, festivals and celebrations.
ah – bec and phil. I have been waiting for a long time to share this day.
so much content. so many moments. so many good stories.
it was one of those days + celebrations where everything just went right.
as I went through the footage and put the edit together, there was one thing in particular that caught my attention.
bec had hand written in a ‘reasons I want to marry you’ book to phil:
‘you understand that sometimes I just need to cry – and you hug me and comfort me.’
that will do me.
side note: this is a slightly different editing direction to previous pieces. instead of multiple angled quicker cuts of events, I’ve focused more on letting more poignant shots breathe, giving them the screen time they deserve.
there’s 2 sequences in particular given this treatment – a free custom USB drive for the first to identify them. give your answer in the comments.
